Some agencies only dispatch FIRE and often FIRE and EMS. Others dispatch all police, fire, and EMS calls. Fire dispatch is very different than police. Police are on the road. Firefighters are either in the station or en route from a call. Fire calls are true emergencies and must be handled expertly and quickly.
