Your Instructor
My name is J. Barbara Harper and I have been working in Law Enforcement Dispatching for 31 years. I began my career with the Cleveland Division of Police as a Dispatcher. For the past 18 years, I have been involved in the hiring and training of new employees and the annual refresher training for existing employees. In 2017, I began part-time employment as an instructor at Cuyahoga Community College Public Safety Training Center. Two years later, I was appointed to the position of Associate Commander of the Dispatcher Academy and in the spring of 2022, I was appointed as the Commander. Teaching is a huge passion for me, and I look forward to being a part of the journey of future Dispatchers who, to me, are the FIRST first responders!
