In each of these calls we want you to hear what is said over and over to the callers in crisis. Not only is the call taker protecting the caller but attempting to prevent any other actions that may endanger the responders. The compassion and empathy are apparent but know that these are SKILLS. The tone of the voice, the way the inflection goes down to demonstrate connection, caring and non-judgment. The call takers are connected to these callers 100% but they are also doing a job protecting and serving all.
