Mr. Douglas Frazier

Welcome to 911 Emergency Communications!

I’m Mr. Douglas Frazier, and I bring decades of real-world experience in military service, law enforcement, leadership, emergency response, and public service into our classroom.

I am a Gulf War veteran who served in the United States Army, including experience in Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD). My military experience taught me the importance of teamwork, discipline, attention to detail, and staying calm when the pressure is high.

After the military, I spent approximately 25 years in law enforcement, serving with the Cincinnati Police Department and retiring as a Police Sergeant.

Throughout my career, I worked in situations where effective communication, quick decision-making, professionalism, and teamwork were essential.

What You Can Expect

This class isn't just about learning how to answer a telephone. 911 telecommunicators are an essential part of the public-safety team.

We will use realistic scenarios and practical exercises to develop skills in emergency communications, active listening, critical thinking, decision-making, radio communications, professionalism, teamwork, and remaining calm under pressure.

My goal is to help you develop skills you can carry beyond this classroom—whether you pursue a career as a 911 telecommunicator, police officer, firefighter, EMT, military service member, or another public-safety professional.

When someone calls 911, it may be the worst moment of their life. Your job is to be the calm, professional voice that helps get them through it.
