Sean Rizor

Sean Rizor is the Criminal Justice instructor at Penta Career Center, bringing more than 25 years of law enforcement and investigative experience to the classroom. Before entering education, Rizor served with several local and county law enforcement agencies before joining the State of Ohio as an investigator, where he spent 20 years specializing in identity theft, vehicle theft, and organized criminal enterprises. Much of his career was spent assigned to the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Vehicle Theft and Fraud Unit, working alongside local, state, and federal agencies to investigate complex criminal cases. Throughout his career, he helped recover millions of dollars in stolen vehicles and played a key role in the identification, apprehension, and conviction of numerous offenders.


Rizor is a certified expert in auto theft investigations, interview and interrogation, and fraudulent document detection. He has provided expert testimony in courts at multiple levels and has trained law enforcement officers and government employees throughout Ohio on detecting fraudulent documents and investigating vehicle-related crimes. He also served as a school resource officer, giving him valuable experience working directly with young people and developing positive relationships with students.

Rizor holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in Law Enforcement Administration and a Master of Education degree from the University of Toledo. He is a past Board Member, Treasurer, Assistant Director, and Director of the Ohio Auto Theft Investigators Association (OATIA), as well as a former Regional Director for the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators (IAATI) Northeast Chapter. He also served as a member of the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force and held a Top Secret security clearance during his law enforcement career. He currently serves as Secretary of the Fraternal Order of Police, Fremont Lodge #35.


At Penta Career Center, Rizor is committed to preparing the next generation of criminal justice professionals through hands-on, real-world instruction. His classroom emphasizes professionalism, leadership, integrity, and practical skills that students can apply in both higher education and public safety careers. He maintains an open-door policy and is dedicated to helping every student reach their full potential.


Outside of the classroom, Rizor enjoys spending time with family, fishing, camping, serving as a licensed real estate agent, and working as a professional DJ for weddings and community events.
