Sue Pivetta has experience as a Comm Center Supervisor/Trainer, college 9-1-1 instructor, author, workshop presenter, public speaker, mediator and international consultant. Sue holds a BA from Antioch University in Communications and Adult Education. Sue led a coalition of 9-1-1 professional educators from the US and Canada to create the 9-1-1 Academy, NECC and the 9-1-1 Reality Simulator. She is currently the President of 911 Professional Pride, Inc.

How much is the course? Are there additional costs?
Schools purchase 'seats'. Textbooks are now embedded - no additional cost. The National Emergency Communications Certification (NECC) exam is included with the online academy. The NECC Teacher exam is at no cost for 9-1-1 Reality Simulator owners. NECC Teacher exams for additional teachers and Non-Owners can be purchased. Certification is ONE-time and online for teachers.

Where did this course come from?
An advisory board of 9-1-1 professional educators created this curriculum using a DACUM process at Renton Technical College. The textbook was written by Sue Pivetta, who was the teacher of the 500-hour vocational education course and a former Comm Center Supervisor.
How long is the course?
The length of the course is determined by the school, college or Comm Center. The only requirement is that all 10 units of study are covered in the course, leading to the final online NECC exam. NECC also requires a SKILL exam proctored by the teacher / instructor using 9-1-1 Reality Simulators.
Can individual learners sign up for this course?
